Lance Mueller is a trial lawyer and the founding owner of Mueller, S.C. He was previously a partner in one of the most well respected law firms in the state. Mr. Mueller maintains a solid litigation practice, having significant experience in both state and federal courts around the country. He is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Florida and has litigated a wide range of matters involving product liability, business torts, contract disputes, shareholder disputes, securities, real estate, land use, copyright, unfair competition, trademark, trade secrets, non-compete agreements and restrictive covenants, injury and banking matters, a number of which involved multi-million dollar claims. He represents clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 100 companies, and has tried many cases to verdict in both bench and jury trials.
Mr. Mueller’s experience and practice also includes representing individuals and businesses large and small in a wide variety of transactional matters. His experience with business dealings includes assisting with selection and forming business organizations such as corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, structuring, negotiating and drafting agreements regarding the purchase, merger and sale of businesses, non-competition agreements, non-disclosure and non-solicitation agreements, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, leases, intellectual property and software licensing agreements, commercial and residential real estate transactions including sale-leaseback transactions, securities offerings, joint ventures, employment agreements and software as a service (SaaS) agreements. He has also provided outside general counsel services to multiple large businesses.
The Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems Mr. Mueller received from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, summa cum laude, in 1999 where he also earned an athletic scholarship as a member of the men’s swim team during his tenure is reflective of his strong interests in both business and technology. He received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2002, during which time he worked as a clerk for different law firms and as an assistant to a law professor.
Mr. Mueller enjoys providing helpful legal information to anyone interested and has given presentations on business matters and civil litigation to companies, business groups, professional organizations, technical schools and universities in Wisconsin. Further, he has appeared numerous times on television and radio, both in connection with the clients and cases on which he has worked and as a featured guest to answer questions or provide information regarding topics including the litigation process, employment law, consumer protection and non-competition agreements. His knowledge, skill and expertise are further reflected by the numerous referrals that he has received from satisfied clients and others, including fellow attorneys and judges.
Mr. Mueller also is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Marquette University Law School. He teaches second and third year law students about civil pretrial practice and procedure.
When he is not working, Mr. Mueller favors spending time with his wife, Ally, and two boys, Asher and Ripley. He likes being active – running, swimming and paddle-boarding – and is an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and Panthers. He lives in Shorewood, Wisconsin and is a member of the Village of Shorewood Board of Review and Board of Appeal.
